SSC Navy Entry🎖️
The Short Service Commission (SSC) Entry in the Indian Navy allows unmarried men and women to join as officers for a tenure of 10 years, extendable up to 14 years. This entry is available in Executive, Technical, and Education branches, offering candidates an opportunity to serve in specialized roles.

Branches & Educational Requirements
Executive Branch:
1- General Service (GS/X)
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in any discipline (60% marks)
- Age Limit: 19.5 to 25 years (as per notification)
2- Pilot
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (60% marks) + 60% in 10+2 with English & Maths
- Age Limit: 19 to 24 years (as per notification)
3- Naval Air Operations Officer (NAOO)
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (60% marks)
- Age Limit: 19 to 24 years (as per notification)
4- Air Traffic Controller (ATC)
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (60% marks)
- Age Limit: 20 to 24 years (as per notification)
5- Logistics
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (60% marks) OR MBA (First Class) OR B.Sc/B.Com/B.Sc (IT) with PG Diploma in Finance / Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Material Management
- Age Limit: 19.5 to 25 years (as per notification)
6- Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre (NAIC)
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Microelectronics, Instrumentation, IT, Aerospace, Metallurgy, etc. (60% marks)
- Age Limit: 19.5 to 25 years (as per notification)
Education Branch
1- Education Officers
- Qualification:
- M.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) with Physics/Maths in B.Sc
- B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication) with 60% marks
- M.Tech in specialized fields
- Age Limit: 20 to 24 years (as per notification)
Technical Branch
1- Engineering Branch (General Service – GS)
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Marine, Aerospace, Production, Industrial, etc. (60% marks)
- Age Limit: 19.5 to 25 years (as per notification)
2- Electrical Branch (General Service – GS)
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Instrumentation, Power Engineering, etc. (60% marks)
- Age Limit: 19.5 to 25 years (as per notification)
3- Naval Constructor
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Ship Technology, Marine Engineering, Ship Design (60% marks)
- Age Limit: 19.5 to 25 years (as per notification)
Selection Process
Shortlisting of candidates is based on,
- Normalized marks in qualifying degree
- JEE (Main) scores may be required for some branches
- NCC ‘C’ certificate holders get 5% relaxation in cut-off marks
Shortlisted candidates receive a call letter for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.
The SSB interview is a five-day evaluation process. It assesses a candidate’s personality, intelligence, and psychological suitability, which includes various tests such as WAT, TAT, SRT, PPDT, GTO tasks, group discussions, personal interviews, and psychological evaluations.
Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a medical examination conducted by a board of Service Medical Officers (SMOs).
Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be issued a joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.
Training
Training Location: Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala
Training Duration: Varies from 6 months to 1 year
Commissioning: Officers are granted Short Service Commission (SSC)
