TES Entry – Technical Entry Scheme🎖️

The Technical Entry Scheme (TES) is a direct entry scheme for candidates who want to join the Indian Army as officers in the technical branches. This is available to those who have completed their 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as core subjects.

Eligibility Criteria

Here’s eligibility criteria for candidates applying for the Technical Entry Scheme:

  • Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

  • A candidate must be an unmarried male.

  • Age: A candidate must not be below 16½ years and above 19½ years on the first day of the month in which the course is due to commence.

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in PCM from a recognized board.

  • Additionally, they must have appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main.

  • The candidate must have scored a minimum of 70% aggregate marks in their Science stream subjects.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisting of candidates is based on their 12th-grade PCM percentage and JEE Main rank.

  • Shortlisted candidates receive a call letter for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.

  • The SSB interview is a five-day evaluation process. It assesses a candidate’s personality, intelligence, and psychological suitability, which includes various tests such as WAT, TAT, SRT, PPDT, GTO tasks, group discussions, personal interviews, and psychological evaluations.

  • Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a medical examination conducted by a board of Service Medical Officers (SMOs).

  • Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be issued a joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.
