TGC Entry – Technical Graduate Course🎖️
The TGC Entry is a direct entry scheme for candidates who wish to join the Indian Army as commissioned officers in the technical branches. This entry is specifically for eligible unmarried Male Engineering Graduates.
Eligibility Criteria
Here’s eligibility criteria for candidates applying for the TGC Entry:
Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Candidates must be unmarried male Engineering graduates.
Age: The age limit for candidates typically ranges from 20 to 27 years, depending on the specific notification.
- Candidates must have a B.Tech/B.E. degree in specific streams listed in the notification.
Selection Process
Shortlisting of candidates is based on their academic performance, with a cut-off percentage in engineering streams.
Shortlisted candidates receive a call letter for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.
The SSB interview is a five-day evaluation process. It assesses a candidate’s personality, intelligence, and psychological suitability, which includes various tests such as WAT, TAT, SRT, PPDT, GTO tasks, group discussions, personal interviews, and psychological evaluations.
Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a medical examination conducted by a board of Service Medical Officers (SMOs).
Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be issued a joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.
Training
Selected candidates will undergo 12 months of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.
During training, candidates will be given a stipend and after successful completion, they will receive a Permanent Commission in the Indian Army as a Lieutenant.
